What The Bubble thinks of the neighbors. All love. Mostly.
"Green Hills is right next door and they think they're us. They're not. They have a mall. We have estates. They have traffic on Hillsboro Pike. We have canopy roads and a police department that knows your name. Green Hills is lovely — for shopping. Then you come home to The Bubble."
"Brentwood is new money with good schools and a Publix for every zip code. They've got nice houses and nicer landscaping. We've got old trees, old money, and homes that were here before their subdivisions were farmland. Brentwood is doing great. We just got here first — by about a century."
"Franklin discovered charm and made it a brand. Good for them. Cute Main Street, great restaurants, lovely for a Saturday. But Franklin is 30 minutes south and trying very hard. Belle Meade doesn't try. It just is. That's the difference."
"Nashville surrounds us on all sides and we incorporated specifically so they couldn't absorb us. That tells you everything. They've got cranes, condos, and a Broadway that smells like beer at 11 AM. We've got Percy Warner, three-acre lots, and back-door trash pickup. Borders exist for a reason."
All in good fun. We love our neighbors. Mostly. — The Locals
